In addition, we aimed to examine the possible role of adiponectin in modulating changes in IR. It was observed that there was a simultaneous decline in expression of IR and AdipoR1 proteins in the ovary of PCOS-mice as compared to the control ovary. Further, a strong correlation was found between ch

Adenosine receptors and innate immunity Monocytes and macrophages. All four adenosine receptor subtypes are expressed on monocytes and macrophages, and their levels and function undergo significant changes during the maturation of macrophages from monocytes. Indeed, quiescent monocytes are charac

Multiple ASD susceptibility genes converge on cellular pathways that intersect at the postsynaptic site of glutamatergic synapses (Bourgeron, 2015; Peca & Feng, 2012), the development and maturation of synaptic contacts (Gilman et al., 2011) or synaptic transmission (Li et al., 2014). 5ARIs in the prevention of prostate cancer Prostate cancer continues to be a leading cause of male deaths worldwide. In 2009, it was estimated there would be 192,280 new cases of prostate cancer with a predicted 27,360 deaths [25]. Because androgens, and specifically DHT, play a large role in bot

For these reasons, the role played by autophagy in environmental neurotoxicity is not always easily determinable. Indeed, although the neuroprotective role of autophagy has been shown by several studies, sometimes induction of autophagy was associate with deleterious effects (Glick et al., 2010, Sri

  2024-07-02

Telomerase action at the telomere is highly regulated; it preferentially elongates the shortest telomeres, and recruitment of the enzyme complex to the telomere occurs in mid-S phase of the cell cycle (Bianchi and Shore, 2007, Britt-Compton et al., 2009, Teixeira et al., 2004, Hemann et al., 2001, T

Finally, impaired endothelial integrity culminates in an increased plasma protein concentration in the interstitial space, and thus accumulation of fluid in the ECM, favoring the swelling of the face and limbs [2] mainly. Concurrently with this systemic change, there is intense activation of coagula

Molecular docking simulations suggest these novel inhibitors block APN activity by an alternative mechanism to Zn coordina
