Aβ has been reported to decrease insulin receptors and impair insulin signaling in neurons, preventing phosphorylation of Akt and glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK-3β), downstream of insulin signaling, and to increase phosphorylation of tau protein causing neurofibrillary tangles (Tokutake et al., 20

Herein we employ an adapted targeted quantitative proteomic isotope dilution method, developed in our laboratory [[18], [19], [20], [21]], to quantify membrane transporters in fresh lung from five donors, in four immortalized human lung cell lines and in three control cell lines. We quantify twelve

Human testicular peritubular Milrinone (HTPCs) are also the only human testicular cell type that can be isolated, cultured and studied in vitro (Albrecht et al., 2006, Mayerhofer, 2013). Results from recent studies indicate that their roles go beyond sperm transport and include immunological functio

It is well accepted that PKA is a key enzyme activated at the beginning of the capacitation process [69]. As mentioned above phosphorylation/inactivation of cofilin in sperm is a PKA dependent process [58]. We could not see any change in cofilin phosphorylation level by adding the PKA activator 8Br-

  2024-06-11

Two parallel branches of the DNA damage-dependent S-phase checkpoint are thought to co-operate by inhibiting distinct steps of DNA replication. One branch includes the phosphorylation of structural maintenance of chromosomes 1 (SMC1), a cohesin that is activated by ATM or ATR after IR treatment or r

In this review, we will present the traditional and actual strategies to study orphan receptors and identify their ligands. An extensive description of the orphan GPCR field has been published in 2013 by Davenport et al. [22]. Therefore, we will focus on the deorphanizations that were reported since

The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is a hormonal system which plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure and body fluid CMK [14]. The main bioactive peptide of RAS is angiotensin II (Ang II) whose biological functions are interposed through angiotensin type 1 receptor (AT1R) and angiotensin ty
