The pathogenesis of AD and the targets of apelin Alzheimer's drugs Conclusions Introduction APJ, first identified from a human genomic library in 1993, belongs to a member of seven trans-membrane G protein-coupled receptor family. Its amino Bisindolylmaleimide VIII acetate sequence has

As regards LEPR, Sun et al. showed that the rs1137101-223A > G polymorphism influences the effectiveness of simvastatin on plasma HDL-C levels in CHD patients [35]. In accordance with the results of García-Bermúdez et al., however, no such an association exists between leptin rs2167270 (G > A) polym

  2023-10-10

APJ receptors have a 380 amino PSB 1115 sequence with a characteristic G-protein structure, including seven transmembrane domains and post-translation modification sites for phosphorylation, palmitoylation and glycosylation along with association sites for β-arrestin (O'Dowd et al., 1993). APJ rece

  2023-10-10

Consistent with the in vitro results, memantine ameliorated Aβ-induced cytotoxicity in rat primary cortical cultures. Studies reported that memantine protected neurons against the damage caused by aggregated Aβ40 or Aβ42 oligomers in vivo[26], [27]. These results suggest that, in addition to its neu

Conclusions In sum, enhanced incentive motivation in obesity-prone rats is mediated by NAc CP-AMPARs. These neurobehavioral differences may render obesity-susceptible populations more sensitive to the motivational influence of food cues, producing more intense, focused, “wanting” that may limit t

Due to metabolic variations, it is important to consider arginine metabolism and dependency in specific contexts to identify precise patterns. This is best illustrated for ASS: while ASS deficiency correlates with worse prognosis in sarcomas, ASS levels positively correlate with a poor prognosis in

The first suggestions that the cleaved intracellular domain of APP, AICD, might transit to the nucleus and hence selectively regulate gene transcription arose from analogies with the Notch receptor signalling system where similar intra-membrane proteolysis occurs [84], [85] and it was later confirme

Finally, Urban-Ciecko et al. (2018) asked whether this enhancement is specific to the pyramidal to SST neuron synapses or more generally observed in other synapses of the cortical microcircuit. Synapses between pyramidal cells showed no sign of potentiation after either bath application of the choli

Anti-LT therapy by 5-LO inhibition has been hampered by occurring liver toxicities by Zileuton or the clinical phase II compound Atreleuton [36], [37] However both compounds possess a thiophene as well as an N-hydroxyurea moiety. These features could be linked with reactive thiophene intermediates [

Vortioxetine is a multimodal antidepressant that acts as an inhibitor at the serotonin (5-HT) transporter (SERT), an agonist at 5-HT1A receptors, a partial agonist at 5-HT1B receptors, and an antagonist at 5-HT1D, 5-HT3 and 5-HT7 receptors (Bang-Andersen et al., 2011, Sanchez et al., 2015). 2023-10-09

Aurora kinases were initially identified as protein kinases essential for error-free chromosome segregation during mitosis and meiosis. Aurora A appears to control premetaphase events, such as bipolar spindle assembly 3, 4, with Aurora B and C directing metaphase and postmetaphase events, including

  2023-10-09

The surprising finding of our study is that human M1 macrophages stimulated by LPS express ALOX15B to high levels. So far 12/15-lipoxygenase activity was only reported for IL-4 stimulated anti-phlogistic M2 macrophages [9] but not for the classically activated M1 macrophages. Our data suggest that s
