Materials and methods Results Using an 84 gene Th1-Th2-Th3 cytokine profile, 17 genes were significantly up-regulated in PBMC one week post-marathon compared to pre-marathon samples (Table 1). Eight genes were down-regulated among various subjects but none consistently enough to achieve statis

Conflict of interest statement Acknowledgments The authors would like to thank Dr. Linda Console-Bram for her editing of this review, Valentina Lucchesi for help with the figures, and acknowledge funding from NIH/NIDA (DA023204). GPR35 is an orphan G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) implicat

  2022-01-11

GLP-1 is known to be expressed in a subset of taste bud cells and has been shown to co-localize with GPR120 in the circumvallate papillae [22]. Local GLP-1 regulates taste preference for sucrose [54]. Analogous to intestinal mediation of GLP-1 by GPR120, Martin et al.[22] report induction of GLP-1 s

After initial validation of the ability of Ad5-Cre virus to express Cre recombinase protein in glial cells in vitro and in vivo, we employed this virus to induce site-specific deletion of our target GlyT1 in the thalamus, through injection of the cKO GlyT1 mice. This transgenic line was constructed

Restart of Stalled Replication Forks By preventing the replisome from unwinding duplex DNA, ICLs stall progression of the replication fork, which in turn results in genomic instability 41., 42.. As in prokaryotes, the conventional mechanism of ICL repair in eukaryotes involves the combined activi

Liver and muscle isozymes have been found in vertebrate tissues [2], [5], [6]. The liver FBPase is recognized as a regulatory enzyme of gluconeogenesis. The muscle isozyme participates in the glycogen synthesis from lactate and in the regulation of glycolysis [7], [8], [9]. The basic difference betw

The present experimental study identified remarkable protective effects for celecoxib against renal toxicity caused by CSA. All aspects of CSA nephrotoxicity, functional, inflammatory, fibrotic, and structural, were improved by celecoxib. Mechanistically, pharmacological and immunostaining protein e

In the CNS, fak inhibitor is known to regulate sleep and wakefulness, learning and memory, feeding, and energy. Here, we address its actions in relation to CNS disorders, and emphasize potential clinical applications of histamine receptor ligands (Table 1). In addition, as the effect of histamine o

In this study, we also profiled the expression of the transporters in wild-type RBL-2H3 cells, RBL-2H3 Sc98 cells, and rat peritoneal mast cells. OCT1 and PMAT were expressed at high levels in both RBL-2H3 Sc98 and RBL-2H3 cells. However, OCT2 and OCT3 were weakly or least detected in RBL-2H3 Sc98 c

G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are another group of kinases whose limited substrate repertoire is associated with an extensive binding interface. GRKs phosphorylate activated G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) at multiple sites, promoting binding of arrestin proteins to mediate receptor
